My values have always aligned with building a skillset that revolves around helping people grow, whether that's in life, creative work, or through business. My diverse background has led me to take on numerous opportunities in different industries where I've surrounded myself around creatives, mentors, entrepreneurs, and business owners who I've built lasting relationships with that have pushed me to become the best version of myself.
I have gained aptitude in technical, creative, and social abilities that have shaped me to become a driven problem solver ready to adapt to any challenge with both logic and creativity. After being a dance instructor for nearly 8 years, I felt a lacking in the use of my technical abilities. Pivoting to software engineering has proven to be the perfect career path for me to combine my affinity towards technical open-ended problem solving, creative solutions, and connecting with others and truly be at my best.
In order to fully commit myself to this new field, I attended App Academy’s intensive 6-month Software Engineering program to gain expertise in Python, Javascript, React, Redux, HTML, CSS and more technologies. This expertise culminated into three full-stack projects including Parmazon, a social messaging application using functional React/Redux, Javascript front-end technologies and a Python/Flask server combined with PostgreSQL database backend technologies. These projects were built while complying with best developer practices such as SCRUM methodologies, pair programming, and git to allow for seamless integration and cooperation. This hard work has fostered, in me, a true passion for writing, refactoring and debugging code while applying my knowledge of the engineering process and the arts to approach code in an open-ended problem solving and creative manner that not only strives for success but grows in failure.
